TL;DR: GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Standard Edition is $79.99, Ultimate Edition is $99.99. Pre-load starts November 10 (up to 212 GB), the "physical" copy is only a download code, and there is still no announced PC version.
Rockstar opened pre-orders on June 25, and launch is less than two weeks away. If you are still deciding between editions, here is what every confirmed number and bonus looks like, and which version is worth your money.
How much does GTA 6 cost?
Take-Two confirmed two editions at launch. The Standard Edition costs $79.99 on both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and the Ultimate Edition costs $99.99. VGC reported both prices on June 24, 2026, and Push Square lists the Standard Edition at ÂŖ69.99 for the UK. Other regional prices were not confirmed in the sources we checked, so check your own store page before you pay.
| Edition | US price | UK price | Platforms |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $79.99 | ÂŖ69.99 | PS5, Xbox Series X|S |
| Ultimate | $99.99 | Not confirmed | PS5, Xbox Series X|S |
That is $10 more than the $69.99 that became the norm for big releases, and the first mainstream game to push the base price to $80 on this generation.
What do you get in the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition?
The extra $20 buys cosmetic and convenience content, not story or map content. Rockstar's list, as quoted by VGC, covers vehicles, weapons, looks and five shops that stay closed unless you own the Ultimate Edition.
| Category | What is included |
|---|---|
| Vehicles | '95 Grotti Cheetah, '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy (Paradise Garage, Watson Bay), Shitzu Squalo boat, Jason's Safehouse vehicles (Dinka Enduro motorcycle, Crest Kayak) |
| Vehicle mods | Ganado Retro Build modkit for Jason's Vapid Ganado |
| Weapons | Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers, personalized Girardi ES9 (Jason) and Klose K17 (Lucia) pistols |
| Looks | Vice City Style outfits and tattoos, Goodtime Gear capsule collection |
| Shops (Ultimate only) | Rideout Customs, One-Eyed Willie's (mod shops), Sara's Unisex Salon, Stock 305 (clothing), Electric Fang Tattoo (50+ signature tattoos) |
| Extras | PTT Youngin$ Illegal Goods Store (gang compound), Classic Car Collection commissioned by the collector Wyman |
My take: if you want the base game and plan to play the story once, Standard is the better buy. Ultimate makes sense if you care about customizing cars and characters from day one.
What are the GTA 6 pre-order bonuses?
Both editions get the Vintage Vice City Pack when you pre-order or buy before November 20. According to VGC it contains a '55 Vapid Stanier, an Ocean Beach garage, vintage outfits and hairstyles for Jason and Lucia, and Tommy Vercetti-inspired weapon patterns. After November 20 the pack is gone, so late buyers miss it.
When can you pre-load and play GTA 6?
Rockstar moved pre-load up to November 10. Per the VICE report on the PlayStation Blog, it starts at midnight local time, needs 212 GB of storage on PS5, and does not give early access. The game itself unlocks at midnight local time on November 19, so New Zealand players get it first.
| Milestone | Date |
|---|---|
| Pre-orders opened | June 25, 2026 |
| Pre-load starts | November 10, 2026 (PS5: midnight local; Xbox: 12 a.m. GMT) |
| Vintage Vice City Pack deadline | Before November 20, 2026 |
| Launch | November 19, 2026 (midnight local) |
Xbox pre-load starts globally at 12 a.m. GMT on November 10 and needs up to 212 GB too, per Rockstar's Pre-Load FAQ. See our GTA 6 pre-load and unlock times guide for start times by region.
Is there a physical copy of GTA 6?
Sort of. Shacknews reports the boxed version contains only a download code and no disc, so you need the storage space and an internet connection either way.
Is there a GTA 6 PC version?
Not yet. Rockstar's announced platforms are PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and no PC release date has been announced. Any 2027 or 2028 date you see online is unofficial speculation.
Where should you play it best?
Whichever console you pick, the controller decides how the game feels. Read our best controller for GTA 6 picks, learn the full PS5 and Xbox button layout, and tune your pad with the GTA 6 controller settings guide. Before launch day, run a quick check with our gamepad tester to catch stick drift.
